Wrexham Eating out

Wrexham has a pretty good choice of eateries and you can find great contemporary, Italian, Chinese and Thai restaurants. Dao Siam (01978 351071) serves fantastic Thai food and with a huge menu, there's something for everyone. Reserve well in advance because this restaurant is really small. The Fat Cat Café Bar is another of the many Fat Cats around the UK. Excellent food and a good menu so no surprises there! Get great a la carte at the Changing Rooms Restaurant (01978 351453) but beware the choice is very slim. Some delicious dishes almost make up for it's shortfalls.

The Lemon Tree (01978 261211) has miraculously stayed open despite all efforts to kill off all the fantastic work done before the name change. The friendly staff and great service are little consolation for average food.

Domelli's Mediterranean (01978 264600) serves pasta and pizza and is conveniently located in the centre of town but make this one a night out as the service could do with being a bit more dynamic. Chicago Rock Café (01978 362706) is not the most likely of places to eat but it does have a rather impressive menu. A bit on the pricey side compared to other places in Wrexham but good, friendly service and great, honest food.

Further afield, the Farndon Arms (01829 270570) is surprisingly good pub food with a regularly varied menu and is worth a look if only for the picturesque village setting. The Golden Groves (01244 570445) located just outside the village of Rossett does a cracking Sunday carvery but can get busy and be hard to find. If the sun is shining, it's got a huge beer garden and a play area that's great for the kids.
