Corn Mill

Eating in Llangollen

The majority of good eateries in Llangollen are found in the good hotel restaurants scattered just outside the town centre. Get a good hotel (Wild Pheasant, Tyn-Y-Wern or Bryn Howell) and you will eat well. However, don't be alarmed if your bed and breakfast accommodation only serves breakfast because there are still a few choice restaurants in this small town and arguably, you can eat better here than in some larger towns.

Eating next to the River in Llangollen

Probably the best food in Llangollen can be found at the Corn Mill (01978 869555) and no doubt that the best dinner views can be found here also. The old Mill was very tastefully turned into a pub / restaurant only five years ago and has since earned praise from many a hungry customer. Much of the original mill building has been preserved including the working water wheel. The outside eating and drinking area juts out over the River Dee to provide brilliant views of the bridge and river valley.

The Gallery Pizzaria

The Gallery Pizzaria (01978 860076) is possibly the smallest restaurant in Britain but this only adds to the unique atmosphere inside. Good food and in the centre of Llangollen this is definitely worth a try. Newly opened for summer 2005 is Caesars (01978 860133) situated right next to the Bridge. It doesn't have a huge choice on the menu but quality as they say is better then quantity! Further afield try the Plough, on the moors near Llandegla (01978 790672). This offers a good meal at a very reasonable price and the carvery is excellent value for money.
