Llandudno barsLlandudno is quickly catching-up in the nightlife stakes. Although there is only one club here (Boulevard's), café bars and pubs are starting to spring up around the town. The Lounge is relatively new and situated on Mostyn Street which is almost defining the trendy drinking area in the town. Next door, The Fat Cat Café Bar (01492 871844) is great for both food and drink and is a little more relaxed. Fountains Cafe Bar (01492 875600) also on Mostyn Street carries on this trend and between these three places and amongst the few restaurants on the same street, this almost fools you into thinking that you're not in a seaside town. Almost, but not quite there yet!
If 'nearly' cosmopolitan is not your thing then head for one of the bigger hotels along the sea front. Here you'll find plenty of entertainment, bars and restaurants - especially in the summer months when every hotel is competing for business. The Grand (0870 787 0555) is probably the best place for relaxed live entertainment and is ideal for the holiday maker even late on in the year. The St Kilda Hotel (01492 876348) is not far behind and The Kensington Hotel (01492 876784) offers entertainment ranging from ballroom dancing to special theme weekends. Wetherspoons have been in Llandudno for a few years now and it's starting to show. Good, cheap food and drink don't make up for the beer soaked carpet and unexciting atmosphere this is one place to avoid. On the whole, Nightlife in Llandudno is more about mature entertaining rather than loud night-clubs open until dawn. |
