Pubs in the main drinking area

Liverpool Bars

Liverpool is world renowned for its nightlife and party atmosphere and is arguably one of the best nights out in the UK. Bars are tightly packed into two main city areas and revellers spill out onto the streets until early hours of the morning. You really haven't had a night out in the UK until you've been to Liverpool City.

Party atmosphere at The Square

During the summer months, Concert Square is the main place to be and is surrounded by The Office, The Lime Kiln (Wetherspoons), Walkabout Bar, Arena and MODO. The square is packed on a hot weekend - even during the day. There are many other trendy bars on the surrounding streets which are worth a visit. Try Bar Bar for great music, relax in the massive Office or head to Walkabout Bar for the latest TV sports.

The Cavern Pub with a John Lennon statue

Mathew Street, at the other side of the city is usually busier later on at night and is a favourite for hen parties. Amongst others, the Cavern Club, Cavern Pub and Lennon's Bar can all be found here. At the bottom of Mathew Street and next to the bus station, The Rat and Parrot, Squares and Yates's Wine Lodge are all huge bars and are busy most weekends.

For a more cosmopolitan and relaxed evening, Albert Dock has a variety of quayside café bars and fantastic restaurants that are great in between visits to the shops, galleries and museums. During a visit to Liverpool, plan to spend half a day at the docks - this should just be enough.
