Chester City Centre Hotel Information

Accommodation in Chester is positioned in three main areas, these are; the City, Hough Green and Hoole Road. Hough Green is approximately 10 minutes walk from the centre and 5 minutes from the Racecourse. Hoole Road is a little further away - 15 / 20 minutes from the centre and 25 / 30 minutes from the Racecourse although Hoole does have more local amenities. Altogether, Chester offers in the region of 100 different B&B's, Guest Houses and Hotels, which is quite a selection for such a small city. All three areas offer a varied choice of accommodation, the city being especially renowned for its high quality establishments - The Chester Grosvenor Hotel (01244 324024) is no exception and it is a cut above the rest with its five star rating.

Next to the racecourse, the Holiday Inn Express (0870 9904 065) offers the usual comforts - it is only a very short walk from the centre too. Directly across the road to the Chester train station is The Best Western Queen Hotel.

The best of Hough Green includes the Carmeletta Hotel (01244 677876) which is privately run and the Redland Hotel (01244 671024), both converted Georgian town houses. Hoole Road prize pickings are the surprisingly extravagant Green Bough Hotel (01244 326241) and for something a little less lavish but with great character, the Pied Bull (01244 325829) is an old coaching house situated inside the city walls offering more traditional accommodation. The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel (01244 570560) is located ten minutes drive away, in the upmarket village of Pulford - perfect if you want a taste of village life but in a well-appointed accommodation.

On the other side of Chester is The Cheshire Cat (01244 332200) this offers reasonable lodgings and traditional food. Just half a mile further along the A41 Whitchurch Road is Rowton Hall Hotel (01244 335262 - see featured link) with 38 rooms and quiet surrounding.
